Bonjour! Vous avez un texte en anglais et voulez le voir écrit en phonétique? Ce transcripteur en ligne vous donnera la transcription phonétique de votre texte en anglais, en utilisant l’Alphabet Phonétique International. Tapez ou collez votre texte en anglais dans la zone de texte ci-dessus, et cliquez sur “Transcrire” (vous pouvez aussi utiliser le raccourci clavier [Ctrl+Entrée] depuis la zone de texte).

Caractéristiques et fonctionnalités:

Choisissez entre la prononciation britannique et américaine*. Lorsque le dialecte britannique est sélectionnée, le son [r] à la fin d’un mot est marqué seulement s’il est suivi d’une voyelle, toujours selon la prononciation britannique.
Ce transcripteur utilise les symboles de l’Alphabet Phonétique International.
La structure du texte et des phrases (sauts de ligne, ponctuation) est conservée lors de la transcription, facilitant la lecture.
 Il est possible de faire varier la position de l’accent tonique, selon la position d’un mot dans la phrase. Cochez l’option “Сonsidérer l’accent tonique”. L’accent faible apparaît en italique dans le résultat.
 Les mots en capitales sont interprétes commes des acronymes s’ils ne sont pas présents dans la base de données. La transcription phonétique d’un acronyme comportera un trait d’union entre chacune de ses lettres.
En plus du vocabulaire courant, la base de données comporte un grand nombre de noms de lieux (pays, capitales, états des États-Unis, comtés du Royaume-Uni), nationalités et noms populaires.
Pour mieux comparer le texte original en anglais et sa transcription phonétique, vous pouvez les placer en vis-à-vis sous forme de colonnes. Pour cela, cochez la case “En vis-à-vis avec l’original”.
Lorsqu’un mot peut être prononcé de plusieurs manières (il apparaîtra alors en bleu dans la transcription phonétique), cliquez dessus pour sélectionner celle qui convient le mieux par rapport au contexte. Passez votre curseur sur le mot en question pour voir une liste des prononciations possibles.
Notez qu’une prononciation différente d’un mot peut changer son sens. Un mot peut aussi avoir différentes prononciations sans que cela modifie son sens. Si vous ne savez pas pour quelle prononciation opter, référez-vous à un dictionnaire.
La base de données est régulièrement mise à jour avec les mots manquants les plus demandés (qui apparaissent en rouge dans la transcription phonétique).
Le texte peut être lu à haute voix dans les navigateurs avec support de synthèse de la parole (Safari, Chrome).

NB: Audio playback!
The speech playback feature is heavily dependant on the OS/browser combination you use. If you want your comments about audio quality to be helpful, please, mention your OS and browser (ideally with versions).

At the moment we recommend Chrome on desktops for full audio playback functionality, which includes

wider choice of voice models,
looping
and speech highlighter features.

Safari dev team has been progressively destroying its in-browser voice support over the last few years and has other TTS implementation issues they don’t seem to be willing to address. There’s little we can do about it at the moment, unfortunately.

On Android, Firefox seems to work best, then Edge. Chrome or Brave on Android aren’t recommended, while Opera doesn’t seem to support speech at all.

Hi, audio playback is extremely fast, too fast for a non-native English speaker to learn, unless I’m doing something wrong..?

You can change the playback rate with the slider next to the playback controls. The default speech rate may differ based on your OS and the browser. What OS/browser are you using?

What happens, the speech rate is not affected at all? What OS are you on, is it Chrome on Android by any chance?

There’s a round bar to move left or right to adjust the audio speed.

It doesn’t work well for me, the audio cuts off when I put an intermediate text and it’s not that long, it’s just a short text but no, no, I read the text, it just reads the first two words and it cuts off and I’m using Chrome and it doesn’t work for me but on the computer it does but not on the tablet, my tablet is a Samsung Galaxy 9 a

Ok, thanks for the feedback. The speech cuts off in Chrome on Android, but ok in Chrome on mac or PC?
