- En plus du vocabulaire courant, la base de données comporte un grand nombre de noms de lieux (pays, capitales, états des États-Unis, comtés du Royaume-Uni), nationalités et noms populaires.
- Pour mieux comparer le texte original en anglais et sa transcription phonétique, vous pouvez les placer en vis-à-vis sous forme de colonnes. Pour cela, cochez la case “En vis-à-vis avec l’original”.
- Lorsqu’un mot peut être prononcé de plusieurs manières (il apparaîtra alors en bleu dans la transcription phonétique), cliquez dessus pour sélectionner celle qui convient le mieux par rapport au contexte. Passez votre curseur sur le mot en question pour voir une liste des prononciations possibles.
Notez qu’une prononciation différente d’un mot peut changer son sens. Un mot peut aussi avoir différentes prononciations sans que cela modifie son sens. Si vous ne savez pas pour quelle prononciation opter, référez-vous à un dictionnaire. - La base de données est régulièrement mise à jour avec les mots manquants les plus demandés (qui apparaissent en rouge dans la transcription phonétique).
- Le texte peut être lu à haute voix dans les navigateurs avec support de synthèse de la parole (Safari, Chrome).

in perseverance (american) i think the “ɪ” in “ˌpɜrsəˈvɪrəns” is actually “i”
I prefer i instead of I ,too.
We must use “ɪ” since “i” is used for long sounds “i:”. Those are rules, that’s why most of vowels and consonants are not capitalized.
